WHAT IS SCULPTRA® AESTHETIC?

Sculptra® Aesthetic is a sophisticated injectable treatment designed to restore your skin’s inner structure by replacing lost collagen. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra is a biostimulator that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to encourage your body to produce its own healthy, new collagen. WHAT MAKES SCULPTRA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER DERMAL FILLERS?

Unlike Juvederm® and Restylane®, Sculptra® is unique due to it’s mechanism of action and duration of results. Sculptra is formulated with poly-L-lactic acid, while traditional HA dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid. Sculptra®, instead of providing immediate volume, works to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production process for gradual, more natural-looking results and can last up to two years versus the traditional 6 months of an HA dermal filler.

TREATMENT PREPARATIONS

To prepare for your Sculptra treatment, please avoid consuming alcohol or taking blood thinners, NSAIDs, vitamin E, and fish oil supplements for at least a week prior to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling. Arrive at your appointment well-hydrated and discuss any last-minute concerns or questions with your provider.

WHAT CAN SCULPTRA TREATMENTS ACHIEVE?

Sculptra was first FDA-approved in 2009 for the treatment of deep facial wrinkles and folds. Since then, it has been successfully used to correct several common signs of aging, including:

  • Restoration of facial volume lost from to aging or illness
  • Filling in the hollows in the cheeks or temples
  • Treating deep lines, folds, and creases to restore a youthful appearance

Once injected, your Sculptra® treatment will work by enhancing the production of new collagen in the skin for up to two years from the time of your injection. That new collagen, in turn, firms the skin, improves and restores volume, increases skin thickness, and creates an overall improvement in skin texture.

While our injector will traditionally use lighter hyaluronic acid fillers to treat fine lines, Sculptra® may be recommended to treat deeper facial wrinkles such as nasolabial folds, or laugh lines on the face.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
